Baby Hairs -a new meaning

This picture is from today. Notice the rim of baby hairs around my head. At 6 months post partum I was absolutely sure a wig or rogaine was in my near future. It was pretty depressing combined with extra baby weight hanging around. 

   So now 10 months later I have a lot of new growth. I also have a calic I didn't realize that was so pronounced. Back in the day did Cindy Crawford have all those baby hairs because she was literally having babies? Was it her new hair coming in?

Morale of the story is that the hair comes back!! Slowly but surely and it's all worth it!

Elk Horn Fern Relocation - over 200 Pounds

 Chris and I were lucky enough to get two huge elk horn ferns when we purchased our home in August 2012. They both way about 200 pounds.

We decided to move the fern. It was hanging low and the grass below it was beginning to die.

Chris used his engineering skills to:
1. Lower the plant
2. Move the metal rope that supported the fern
3. Hoist the plant and reattach it to the rope.

Good job, Chris! You are so amazing.
Also thanks for bringing adventure into our lives. It was fun to harness up and belay you again :).

 

 

 

Rainbarrel installed!!

Chris connected the rainbarrel this weekend. Thurston helped unwrap it. I'll try to find a photo. We collected half a barrel of water already. I better get some plants to water. Any ideas? Ground cover and herbs are preferred.

Dancing Thurston at 9.5 months

He's started to dance whenever he heard music! So funny!! Chris is playing guitar at 8am this morning! Gotta love Saturdays! CHECK OUT THE VIDEO:

Mango ginger green smoothie

Ahhh... We all love the health of our green smoothies. Today I think I made my best! Mr. Brown is under the weather so I wanted to send him off to work with a jolt of immunity booster. It tasted so good, so pleased... Except that half my smoothie ended up on my seat! I need a lid on my tervis! 

Recipe:

1 big mango

1/2 frozen banana

2 cups spinach

1/2 cup coconut water

1 inch of ginger

3/4 cup ice

A Back Hoe Birthday

We bought this house in August of 2012... And  Wowza we've done a lot of projects. Yesterday was my birthday. I turned 37. Got a great gift the VitaMix 5200.  Chris rented a Back hoe ... Here's a little video of him digging a big hole. Fun!

CWT - 4 months with the bumbo and teddy bear

Although you can't tell Thurston had his first cough... he lost his voice so when he cried it was pretty pathetic. We giggled a little because it just didn't have the same affect as when he whales!! 

He is now able to sit in the bumbo pretty securely which is nice on my arm and back. His 4 months check up was on 4/13. He weighed 13lb 12oz. 

He's so fun!!

Conversations with Thurston week 13 from Jan 11, 2014

Thurston went to daycare all last week so I have enjoyed our Saturday together. Chris went out to work at the Walt Disney World Marathon. 

We all went to sleep last night at 8:30pm... our Friday nights have slowed down these days :). Chris left at 2am for the race. Thurston and I woke up at 5am and hit the day running!! Except we didn't run or walk the dog... just talked, did laundry and recorded this video for you!
