Brown's have bikes!

We have bikes! Thurston is enjoying the ride. We got both of our Electra Beach Cruisers at Orange Cycle over on Edgewater Drive in College Park.  Orange Cycle has been around since early 1970's  and I see why. Their service is perfect. Not too salesy  but  just enough attention. Ben was our salesperson. Today we received a card in the mail with well-wishes for our bike riding experience. 

We decided against the $300ish chariot at Orange Cycle and bought an Instep chariot. Chris said it was perfectly stable  yet light. He said you can pick it up with one hand. 

Can't complain about our Wednesday night!

Publix Cars, Thurston and Abe April 2015

First ride in the Publix shopping cars. These babes are loving it. It's crazy to think that Thurston is almost twice as old as Abe here. Also the  heavy breathing in the background is Mel... she knows what the babies like!

These fellas are just hanging out playing with a pretty social lizard. Watch for it... the lizard attacks! 

I wish I would have gotten more video of Will.. I guess you'll just have to enjoy his leg!

Homemade Laundry Shelves

We generate a ton of laundry. We had plastic clothes baskets and a medal two tiered hamper... so it was always messy. I asked my handy husband if he could build a shelf for the laundry baskets and this is how it turned out. It looks so good. Chris used pine for the shelves. We decided not to varnish, because who's got time for that.

The screws were a little too long and they popped out through the shelves. Chris remedied that with a couple washers. The baskets are from Home Goods. I think the different sizes and patterns make it fun. Overall this is a huge success for the Brown House. Here's the cost break down: Baskets $70; Wood $32; Brackets $20.
