Half Marathon Training - 5am on Tuesday!

I have been dreading the thought of the 5am midweek Tuesday / Thursday workouts. This morning, however, my body gave me a gift. I woke up without the alarm set at 4am. I laid there and had no choice but to get moving. I made it to the group workout by 4:53am and was already a winner today!
Here's my workout:
- 1.75 mile loop and one time around the track.
- Rest
- Repeat.
By 6am I'd completed my 3.75mi workout and was ready for a shower.
Now the only question is ... will I have enough stamina for Tuesday Yoga at Project 7 on Virginia Ave. I'm a huge fan of the teacher Asheley and the price is right at $7 per class!
Here's a fun video of Thurston and Chris learning Tracy Chapman's - Give me one reason to stay Here.
So cute!

Brown's Want a Pool - April 2016

A picture for inspiration only.
Early this year (2016) I had an realization. I want a pool. Our friends, Matt and Mel were putting a pool into their newly built house over in Punta Gorda, FL and that was just enough to push me over the edge.  Chris didn't feel the same. Don't worry he quickly came around. This is our pool experience.

I knew what I wanted, no frills, in my mind the following should cost $30,000.
- square small pool
- deepest would be 5' shallow would be 3'
- I wanted a beach shelf for the kids and maybe a sitting area in the pool
- A spa was a must have
- Chris wanted a screen, I wasn't that into it, but okay.

Sketch 1.
In April 2016, I booked our first appointment with a Pool Builder: Blue Haven Pools. The guy was nice enough, but when we started talking details, he just nodded his head. Finally, Chris got out a pen and paper and started sketching the pool with dimensions. I was not too thrilled. Below is the quote that we received from him. We decided, the price did not matter. We didn't feel good about contracting with this company after the presentation we received. BUT! STEP ONE IS COMPLETE AND THE POOL IS GOING TO HAPPEN!

Brown's have bikes!

We have bikes! Thurston is enjoying the ride. We got both of our Electra Beach Cruisers at Orange Cycle over on Edgewater Drive in College Park.  Orange Cycle has been around since early 1970's  and I see why. Their service is perfect. Not too salesy  but  just enough attention. Ben was our salesperson. Today we received a card in the mail with well-wishes for our bike riding experience.
We decided against the $300ish chariot at Orange Cycle and bought an Instep chariot. Chris said it was perfectly stable  yet light. He said you can pick it up with one hand.
Can't complain about our Wednesday night!

Publix Cars, Thurston and Abe April 2015

First ride in the Publix shopping cars. These babes are loving it. It's crazy to think that Thurston is almost twice as old as Abe here. Also the  heavy breathing in the background is Mel... she knows what the babies like!
